This January marks the 20th anniversary of the OK Corral Series, a pioneering force in the world of equine-assisted work. The O.K. Corral Series was founded by the man who named the field of equine assisted psychotherapy (EAP), and founded Equine Services, Inc., and EAGALA – Greg Kersten. The organization has spent two decades shaping the direction, professionalism, and heart of both EAP and equine assisted learning (EAL). What began as a groundbreaking vision—partnering with horses to foster emotional insight, growth, and healing—has become a global movement impacting lives globally.
Over the past twenty years, the Greg Kersten and the OK Corral Series has trained more than 4,500 professionals in the practice of EAP and EAL. These practitioners carry forward his legacy, applying time-tested techniques, philosophical foundations, and hands-on herd work to help professionals implement equine behavior in their programs and practices. The OK Corral Series’ influence extends to mental health providers, educators, life coaches, and equine specialists who are transforming the way humans learn from horses.
As the OK Corral Series celebrates this significant milestone, it stands not only as a training program, but as a testament to innovation, dedication, and the enduring power of the horse-human relationship. With the help of trainers Dr. Heide Burch, PhD and Kim and Scott Warner, the next chapter in the OK Corral Series promises continued growth, creativity, and impact while remaining loyal to the “brilliance of the basics.” At the OK Corral Series, natural horse and herd behavior will always be an inspirational model for human awareness and positive growth.
