The O.K. Corral Series is partnering with Ride to Pride in Las Vegas, New Mexico to offer a new certification seminar focused on working with young clients. “Horses Helping Kids Be Kids” is a three-day, EAP/EAL certification seminar specifically designed for professionals who work with children and youth. Specific objectives for the seminar include instruction in the basic principles of Equine Assisted Philosophy, as well as the following:
- Engage clients in activities that are designed to promote skills-building and address a variety of behaviors
- Create an environment for change that is proven to be effective in addressing violence, substance abuse, and child abuse that naturally crosses cultural divisions with an emphasis on communication, trust, and respect
- Assessment and identification of behaviors related to an array of mental health conditions for which EAP is effective in youth
- Learn, practice, and process new techniques on how to “draw” useful and critical information from EAP sessions
- Understand the nonverbal parallel between horses and youth
Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to further your knowledge and develop new skills in providing EAP services specifically for children and youth.
